Cello. And Russian in the Garden
Apr. 2nd, 2008 02:53 amOhhhhhhhhhhh... not only did I get to sit out in the garden for a whole 20 minutes reading my Russian bible (before I got too cold and had to scamper back in), but despite feeling pretty shaky and grim I played the cello for the first time this year:
*swoon*

Ten whole minutes was enough to leave me utterly worn out, but so lovely to get my paws on Madeline after all this time, still perfectly in tune, and luckily for me I got a lovely tone and hit all the right notes, played my Bach bars and Lavender's Blue and got to enjoy the deep vibrating strings and groovy noises with no wincing - though I had to do some fast talking when Forest spotted me getting the case out of the corner of the room as he didn't think I was up to it. Likely not, but I've missed my cello so much...
I also got to play the guitar a lot this morning, about twenty minutes noodling happily with the Pink Lady, the last few times I've been fumble fingered and just too tired to do more than pluck a couple of strings and then give up but I was doing classical and fingerstyle and stuff, yay me.
Other than that I've been reading and resting and watching some television and trying to make up for a really bad night, ugh.
Its fun with the Russian again though, something else I'd been missing for far too long, though as I'm back at the very lmited vocab stage, reading familiar things helps, so the Gospel of Luke is handy, because the mental process is something like "something something in the something with something and the angel came down - aha, that'll be shepherds, sheep, hills, got it. Something, something, something, Mary & Joseph and shepherds in the - ah, likely a stable. Next bit.. Simeon was an old man in the.. hmm, temple? Temple.... la la la". Having been raised catholic most of this stuff is very familiar, but we weren't big on the whole bible study thing so I've got lots of gaps in the basic storylines, but that's half the fun, though not very helpful when you get to "Blessed are the somethings, for something.. Blessed are something something... Blessed are...". I did rather better with the French bible on that section, on the whole.
Oh and in other news, could all the nice ladies wanting to strip off and pose for Forest's camera within about 5 minutes of "meeting" him online please form an orderly queue to the right. Thankyou *mad giggles*
