Walkies and Fluting
Apr. 6th, 2009 01:48 amToday was not a swingball day as it seemed a tad too energetic after scampering down to help mum sort the Sainsburys delivery - she woke up with her face all swollen from an abcess and spent several hours on the phone seeking someone to provide antibiotics, so wasn't feeling her best when faced with bags of shopping. Pills fetched (yay Forests on white chargers zooming out to the chemists) she's feeling much better already, doesn't need the extra ailments that's for sure, poor thing ;(
So after lunch (tasty baked camembert, mmm - yay Tesco trip on Saturday) I decided to go for a walk instead, not in the dark, how novel! And on my own as I felt safe enough to not need an escort... Was only supposed to be ambling to the end of the street but I managed all the way along to the next street and back, which isn't very far in the grand scheme of things but about three times as much as I normally do so I was pleased. And on the way back I said hi to a neighbour and ended up chatting to him and his wife for a while, sociable hobbits, ooh!
I really need to remember that being active and exercise-y leads inevitably to napping, my mediaeval history book paled in attraction compared to a nice snuggly blankie, felt better for that and a snack though.
Ooh and for the third night running now I played the flute - dinner, walkies, music seems a good combination currently. The tone is much better and I worked on breath control and phrasing on the Debussy and Mozart, plus dredged out another James Galway piece from memory and tootled away on that, something Brasilieros I seem to remember (I nearly wore out my Galway tape as a kid, so know them all by heart... :) )
I read way too much of my French book yesterday and still didn't want to set it aside, finished it this morning, plus read some Chinese poetry, and just started a new French book from the library, some private detective thing, no doubt the corpses will pile up as is the norm in French books of all flavours, though at least one expects them in thrillers.
Speaking of books, I found another cool book of Chinese poetry, Poems of the Masters. I still had an amazon voucher left over from my birthday, being kept for a special occasion. Today is a special occasion *nods*
This post seemed less rambling in my head, ah well..
